Operation Finally Home

ABOUT OPERATION FINALLY HOME

Operation Finally Home is an award winning program created by Bay Area Builders Association Support Our Troops. Operation Finally Home was established in 2005 as a non-partisan/non-profit 501(c)(3) organization by Texas builder Dan Wallrath. Their mission is to provide custom-made mortgage-free homes to wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen in an effort to get their lives back on track and become productive members of their communities.  They partner with corporate sponsors, builder associations, builders, developers, individuals contributors, and volunteers to help severely wounded heroes and their families’ transition from the battlefront to the home front and help them succeed in their challenging new world so they may ultimately enjoy a productive and rewarding life.

Since then, Wallrath has given many injured Iraq and Afghanistan veterans mortgage free homes of their own. He and his Operation Finally Home team have built nine new custom homes and currently have ten more planned or under construction.

Last year, he expanded his idea into a national campaign, which earned him a spot as one of CNN’s 10 Heroes of 2010.

MARLO'S CONTRIBUTION

Marlo Construction, Inc., a  2002 Onslow County Builder of the Year and Certified Green Professional by the National Association of Home Builders, has entered into a partnership with Operation Finally Home and Log Homes of America to design and build homes for Onslow County military members wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Marlo Construction Inc., will provide land and the general contracting oversight while Log Homes of America will supply craftsman-style log homes.

The homes will be totally free with a deed in the recipient’s name. The first two years worth of taxes and homeowners insurance is also paid to help these families transition from the battlefront to the homefront. Daily News -to see article click here
